Learn more about ADA Concierge ServicesDisability Network Lakeshore is a Center for Independent Living — a nonprofit run by and for people with disabilities. A majority of our board and staff live with disabilities themselves, so the support we offer is grounded in real, everyday experience.
Centers for Independent Living are built on a simple belief: people with disabilities are the experts on their own lives. We do not decide what is best for you. We listen, share what we know, and help you reach the goals you set for yourself, so you can live independently and take part fully in your community.
We welcome people of all ages with any kind of disability, along with their families and caregivers. You do not need a diagnosis, a referral, or paperwork to reach out — and individual services are always free.

Every year during the first full week of August, people around the world celebrate International Assistance Dog Week. In 2026 it runs from August 3 through August 9. The week honors the hard-working dogs that help people with disabilities live full, independent lives.
